This is course is for those who have already completed The Clinical Military Counselor Certificate (CMCC) Part-One course, either via a live in-person course, or a live interactive course. Both Part-One and Part-Two are required to earn the CMCC certificate.

The training offers 6 hours of self-paced online continuing education using videotape presentations and written materials by professionals with extensive experience in supporting veterans' medical, behavioral healthcare, career transition, and family-life needs. The CMCC training assists professionals in the military assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of counseling and related services that are different than in civilian/community mental health.

Introduction to CCMC
Module I: Cultural Aspects of the Military
Identify the unique within-group cultural differences between the various branches of the military.
Recognize the importance of gaining rapport within the “circle of trust” in the military community before engaging in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment strategies.
Module II: Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Co-Occurring Disorders
Compare military and community/civilian mental health conditions by evaluating, diagnosing, and treating military mental health, combat operational stress, posttraumatic stress symptoms, and co-occurring chronic health conditions.
Module III: Medical and Psychosocial Aspects of Military
Analyze and apply the unique medical, physical, psychological, social, emotional, spiritual, vocational, mental health, and cultural issues associated with a variety of chronic illnesses and disabilities that affect service members, veterans, veterans with disabilities, and family members.
Module IV: Vocational Rehabilitation, Assessment, and Career Transition in the Military
Explain the impact that career transition has on veterans and veterans with disabilities. Examine, evaluate, and apply career development strategies to increase educational and career opportunities for military veterans.
Module V: Cultivating Resiliency of Mind, Body, & Spirit
Critically evaluate, analyze, and apply specific models of resiliency training that cultivate a transformational journey of the mind, body, and spirit.
Mark A. Stebnicki, Ph.D., LPC, DCMHS, CRC, CCM, CMCC is a Professor and Coordinator of the Military and Trauma Counseling (MTC) Certificate Program in the Department of Addictions and Rehabilitation at East Carolina University. In 2015, he developed one of the nation’s first military counseling certificates within a CACREP-accredited counselor education program. Dr. Stebnicki is an active teacher, researcher, and psychotherapy practitioner with over 30 years’ experience working with adolescents and adults that have had exposure to extraordinary stressful and traumatic events, grief, loss, chronic illness, and disability. For over 30 years his work with both civilian and military trauma in the rehabilitation and mental health field are reflected in 8 professional texts, 28 journal articles, and over 100 presentations given regionally, statewide, and throughout the nation. He has served on many statewide and national professional counseling boards and organizations. Overall, these experiences have been cultivated and advanced in the Clinical Military Counseling Certificate (CMCC) program he developed in 2016.
